Mr.  Eben Bullock     High School Principal

The Sidney High School is such a vibrant and exciting place to be!  It is my pleasure to be the Principal in a building full of dedicated faculty and staff and great students.  Our teachers engage students in lessons which focus on the NYS Learning Standards.  We are always working on our goals to improve student achievement and to build stronger connections with students and parents.  This year in the High School we are all focusing on the character trait of respect.  Respect for ourselves and for others.  We encourage our students to make choices that support rather than demean and choices that contribute to our high school and our community in positive ways.

As the Principal, I try to guide students through their adolescent years by showing them respect, listening to them, and by modeling appropriate behaviors for them.  I feel I can be much more successful as a principal by getting to know our students and their parents.  I welcome and encourage parent involvement in our school because I believe that the school and parent need to team together to guide and encourage our students to do the best they can each day. We work hard to prepare our students for the future.

 NYSSMA MAJORS

OnTuesday, May 11th, the Sidney High School Concert Band performed at the NYSSMA Major Organization Festival. NYSSMA is set up on a six level rating system, with the most demanding music literature listed as a six. Sidney performed yesterday as a level five.
For performing at a very high degree of proficiency, with minimal lapses in musicality, Sidney was awarded an overall rating of silver. Congratulations! This is especially significant this year, since we achieved this level of excellence with a smaller ensemble than is normally required when taking on a program as demanding as level five.
Great work everyone! You school and community are proud of your accomplishment. Keep up the great work!
